Karen is the houses editor for Homes & Gardens online and contributing editor for Period Living magazine. She has nearly 30 years' experience of writing and editing features on interiors and gardens, starting out at Ideal Home magazine.
Karen’s passion for gardening began with an apartment in London, UK, where she filled a tiny 6’ by 4’ front yard with pink pelargoniums, begonias, and other annuals. Several house moves later, with the gardens – and plants – gradually increasing in size each time, she knew she’d found her forever garden when she planted a climbing rose to cover the back fence.
Roses of all types and colors are a passion for Karen, along with clematis and some of the heavily scented heritage sweet pea varieties. When not in her own garden, Karen loves to gather inspiration from gardens open to the public.
