Garden Party Theme Ideas: Planning A Garden Themed Party
Nothing is easier to plan than a themed garden party. This is because you can simply focus your party on any aspect of the garden that appeals to you at the moment. Garden party themes can range from fancy-dress banquets with guests showing up in Great Gatsby attire to working garden parties where neighbors come together to dig and weed. Read on for more ideas for planning a garden themed party.
Garden Party Theme Ideas
When you start planning a garden themed party, the possibilities are endless. You might hold the party in the garden, serve food that was grown in the garden, or just use garden décor indoors.
One great garden theme idea is to host neighbors and create a community garden. Everyone can show up in garden clothes with seeds and tools. Once digging and seeding is done, you could even bake up a few homemade veggie pizzas.
Themed garden parties are so much fun that you won’t have a lack of ideas. You could plan a “get to know your neighbors” garden party, inviting everyone on the block and setting up buffet tables outdoors.
You could also organize your garden festivities around fundraisers for local parks or charities. Decide on the improvements you hope to finance, then plan the table settings around that theme. For example, if the plan is to raise money to plant succulents on the children’s playground, provide little potted succulents at each guests’ setting. If you hope to finance the planting of street trees, use sketches of trees for name cards.
More Garden Party Themes
Another good theme for a garden party is to throw an adult tea party in the garden. Rake and organize your garden first, then set up several small tables with lovely tablecloths and napkins. Hit the thrift stores to find old teacups and saucers for each place setting. Serve tiny, bite-sized pastry items like petit fours, small triangles of bread with sliced cucumbers, or deviled eggs.
Making cut flower arrangements provides another fun, creative party theme to try out. Provide lots of cut flowers and foliage along with a variety of vases. Each guest is charged with putting together a bouquet. Alternatively, you could provide little blooming plants to pot up together.
